Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Officer

About the role

The Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) Officer will provide technical guidance to National Societies in the IFRC Africa Region, helping them design, implement and monitor cash and voucher programmes that meet humanitarian needs. Based in the IFRC Cluster Office in Yaoundé, the role supports up to nine National Societies across Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tomé & Principe, Gabon and additional countries.

Key responsibilities

• Offer technical advice to improve the quality, accountability and impact of cash interventions.
• Assist National Societies in procuring and managing Financial Services Providers.
• Strengthen CVA capacities through training, tools and best‑practice sharing.
• Facilitate coordination among partners and stakeholders on cash‑based programmes.
• Support decision‑making and implementation of cash and voucher assistance, ensuring timely delivery to crisis‑affected populations.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian cash assistance, cash‑based programming or related fields.
• Understanding of cash preparedness, procurement processes and financial service delivery.
• Ability to work with multiple National Societies and coordinate across diverse partners.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
