Commercial and Marketing Director

About the role

The Commercial and Marketing Director will lead the development and execution of the commercial and marketing strategy for a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) portfolio. Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, the role is responsible for driving sales growth, market share, and brand visibility across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall commercial and marketing strategy.
• Manage internal communication flows and coordinate with other departments.
• Prepare, manage, and optimise the department’s budget.
• Conduct regular reviews of commercial and marketing plans and apply corrective actions.
• Forecast product demand and plan inventory accordingly.
• Lead the development and launch of new products.
• Design and execute media and non‑media communication plans for all brands.
• Represent the department in Management Committee meetings and obtain approval for pricing, margins, and sales terms.
• Define roles, set objectives, and implement performance evaluation and career development for the team.
• Oversee customer credit limits in collaboration with Finance.
• Coordinate export operations with freight forwarders.
• Plan and manage follow‑up meetings to track commercial objectives.
• Participate in recruitment and selection of team members.
• Collect and analyse market intelligence for competitive insights.

Required profile

• MBA or equivalent Master’s degree in Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial management role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong knowledge of project management, corporate finance, and IT management tools.
