Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance of heavy mining machinery across multiple sites, ensuring equipment reliability, safety and cost‑effective operation. Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will oversee a workshop team, manage spare‑part inventories and drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and schedule maintenance of all heavy mining machineries to prevent breakdowns.
• Conduct routine checks, inspections and testing of repaired equipment to verify performance against manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness, lubrication and other routine upkeep of machinery.
• Manage inventory and procurement of spare parts and supplies to sustain equipment availability.
• Liaise with OEM service engineers for commissioning, warranty support and technical training.
• Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets, control workshop expenditures and report asset‑wise costing.
• Maintain accurate service records, schedule work orders and assign tasks to workshop staff.
• Train, develop and appraise workshop personnel, ensuring safety compliance at all times.
• Identify and implement process improvements and report any near‑misses or accidents promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an expatriate Workshop Manager handling heavy earth‑moving machinery maintenance and spare‑part planning.
• Proven track record in repairing and maintaining mining or quarry equipment fleets.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, health & safety regulations and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
