Marketing Manager – FMCG/Tobacco (Douala, Cameroon)

About the role

The Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of brand and product strategies for a leading FMCG/Tobacco company in Cameroon. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role combines brand building, product launch, trade marketing and market intelligence to drive market share and revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and implement brand strategies to strengthen the portfolio across Cameroon.
  • Lead end‑to‑end product launches, from concept through market introduction.
  • Develop brand positioning, identity and messaging for all products.
  • Monitor brand health, equity and ROI, taking corrective actions when needed.
  • Create and manage annual marketing plans aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Control marketing budgets and ensure optimal return on investment.
  • Design and execute media and non‑media communication plans.
  • Coordinate trade‑marketing activities with sales and distribution teams.
  • Conduct market research to capture consumer behavior, preferences and trends.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and identify market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners to ensure product availability and visibility.
  • Develop trade‑marketing programs for distributors and retailers.
  • Track and report key marketing KPIs, prepare regular performance dashboards and reports.
  • Coach and develop junior marketing staff.

Required profile

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing management, preferably within FMCG or Tobacco.
  • Proven track record of building brands and executing successful product launches.
  • Deep knowledge of FMCG distribution channels and the Cameroonian market.
  • Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English.
