Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to join its Sub‑regional Office for Central Africa in Yaoundé. The officer will support the Director in leading the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes that promote economic diversification, structural transformation and inclusive development across the Central Africa sub‑region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes and projects, tracking progress and analysing results.
• Identify challenges, capture lessons learned and best practices, and initiate corrective actions.
• Facilitate workshops and interactive sessions with clients to co‑create action plans for change management.
• Research, analyse and synthesize information from diverse sources, organising content within existing knowledge repositories.
• Coordinate policy development, including issue analysis, trend monitoring, and preparation of evaluations or research studies.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, public policy, development studies or a related field.
• Experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation within an international or development context.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to produce clear reports.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
