Account Payable & General Ledger Officer

About the role

We are looking for an Account Payable & General Ledger Officer to join our finance team. The role focuses on processing payments, maintaining accurate ledger entries, and ensuring seamless integration between our accounting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process supplier invoices, petty cash reimbursements, and credit‑card settlements, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Enter transactions accurately into the SIMPRO system and synchronize data with XERO, including tax invoice verification.
• Act as liaison between vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and guarantee timely payments.
• Prepare routine month‑end journal entries such as accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation, and other balance‑sheet adjustments.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between SIMPRO and XERO, investigating and resolving variances promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within construction or foreign‑investment environments.
• Strong ethical standards and knowledge of relevant financial regulations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using Xero, SAP, or SIMPRO accounting software.
• Familiarity with database and internet applications.
