Accountant – Global Health Project

About the role

The Accountant will join the finance team supporting the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project in Cameroon. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, the role ensures accurate financial recording, compliance with donor and local regulations, and timely reporting for a multi‑partner health initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify, examine and analyze financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and OHADA standards.
• Review and consolidate monthly financial reports from country offices, preparing accurate account statements and reconciliations.
• Process journal entries, cash receipts, field cash management and wire payments.
• Maintain the general ledger and supporting sub‑ledgers, generating required accounting reports.
• Respond to internal inquiries, support training sessions and assist with audit preparations.
• Participate in accounting projects such as system upgrades, process improvements and donor‑specific reporting.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to apply accounting principles independently in a non‑profit environment.
• Strong knowledge of Cameroonian tax law (VAT, WHT, CIT) and compliance requirements.
• Experience with donor reporting standards and the OHADA accounting framework.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
