Apprentice Payroll Administrator (Hybrid)

About the role

This 21‑month Apprenticeship offers a hybrid working pattern, combining home‑based study with time at the Civic Centre. You will be trained to become a competent Payroll Administrator while earning a qualification and a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the payroll team with processing weekly and monthly payroll runs.
• Enter and verify employee data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support the resolution of payroll queries from staff and managers.
• Maintain payroll records and help prepare statutory reports.
• Contribute to the preparation of payroll-related documentation for audits.

Required profile

• Resident in the UK for at least three years (exceptions considered case‑by‑case).
• Not in full‑time compulsory education.
• Able to meet the entry requirements of the associated qualification and complete the required coursework.
• Motivated to develop a career in payroll and finance within the public sector.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills are required; training will be provided.
