Documentation Coordinator – Customer Service (Kribi)

About the role

The Documentation Coordinator supports Hapag‑Lloyd’s customer service operations in Kribi, ensuring that import and export documentation processes meet customer requirements and that cargo moves efficiently through the yard. You will act as the main point of contact for amendment requests, customs queries, and equipment handling, driving timely gate‑in and empty‑return activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process amendment and supplementary requests from customs, customers and POL, and ensure rapid OBL printing.
• Issue delivery orders, Telex Release instructions and manage export counter activities, including liaison with operations for loaded container confirmation.
• Coordinate GOMT and GIFU tasks to improve cargo readiness, promote fast gate‑in, and increase loading volumes.
• Drive longstanding cargo and empty‑return initiatives by communicating with customers, monitoring special cargoes, and following up on waiver cases.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports and collaborate with sales and operations teams on equipment release control.

Required profile

• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Basic understanding of customer service and import documentation processes (learnable on the job).
• Customer‑centric mindset with problem‑prevention and resolution abilities.
