Education Officer – Digitalisation & Skills Development

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Officer to lead digitalisation and skills development initiatives in Cameroon. Based in Yaounde, the officer will support the design, implementation and monitoring of inclusive programmes that enhance literacy, numeracy, digital competencies and employability for children, adolescents and young people, with a focus on girls and vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Education Specialist in planning and delivering digital education, foundational literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Develop strategies, work‑plans, tools and learning resources to promote 21st‑century and green skills.
• Coordinate with government, private sector, technology and training partners to ensure gender‑responsive and inclusive programme delivery.
• Monitor field activities, track risks, generate evidence and produce donor and internal reports.
• Support the translation of the Girls’ Movement outcomes into scalable actions that foster girls’ agency and leadership.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in Education, Development Studies or a related field.
• Experience in designing and managing digital or skills‑development programmes in low‑resource settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government, NGOs and the private sector.
• Strong understanding of gender‑responsive approaches and inclusion of vulnerable groups.
