Education Officer (NO-2) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Field Office, the Education Officer (NO-2) provides professional technical, operational and administrative support throughout the education programming cycle in Maroua. The role ensures that education interventions are integrated with WASH, child protection and social protection programmes, are climate‑resilient and inclusive of girls, displaced children and children with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support education programme planning, situation analysis and results‑based design using relevant data and evidence.
• Contribute to programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and follow‑up to ensure timely delivery of results.
• Coordinate with UNICEF colleagues, government counterparts, implementing partners, UN agencies, donors and other stakeholders.
• Monitor the use of programme resources and ensure compliance with UNICEF procedures, donor commitments and accountability standards.
• Assist with data analysis, progress reporting and alignment of interventions with programme goals and objectives.

Required profile

• University degree in education, social sciences, humanitarian affairs or a related field.
• At least two years of professional experience in education programming within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Experience working with government and UN partners in fragile or emergency settings.
• Strong knowledge of the education sector in low‑resource environments.
• Fluency in English and French.
