Health Informatics Assistant

About the role

The Health Informatics Assistant will support EGPAF Cameroon’s Atteindre95 project by enhancing and maintaining electronic data collection tools. Working closely with the Health Informatics team and program staff, the role ensures accurate, timely data for patient management and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze program requirements and improve existing electronic tools.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain data capture and entry applications using established guidelines.
• Support DHIS2, DAMA, PLDC, and related digital suites.
• Identify and fix software defects in digital tools.
• Engage users and technical teams to prioritize feature requests and improve usability.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to knowledge management.
• Assist in developing additional software applications as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Experience with EMR systems and eHealth solutions.
• Familiarity with PEPFAR programs and health systems in Cameroon is a plus.

Required skills

• Programming: PHP (Laravel), Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap.
• Database: MS SQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL.
• Platforms: DHIS2, ODK, KoboToolbox.
• Web server management and optimization.
• Understanding of health information exchange standards (HL7, FHIR).
• Experience with free and open‑source technology stacks.
