Health Informatics Assistant

About the role

The Health Informatics Assistant will support EGPAF Cameroon’s M&E system within the Atteindre95 project. Working closely with the Health Informatics team, you will help design, develop, and maintain electronic data capture tools that improve patient management and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze program requirements and enhance existing electronic tools.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain data capture and entry applications using established guidelines.
• Support DHIS2, DAMA, PLDC, and related digital suites.
• Identify and fix software defects in existing tools.
• Engage users and technical staff to prioritize feature requests and improve usability.
• Stay current with new technologies and contribute to knowledge management.
• Assist in developing additional software applications as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Health Informatics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Understanding of EMR systems and eHealth environments.
• Familiarity with PEPFAR programs and health systems in Cameroon is a plus.

Required skills

• Programming languages and frameworks: PHP, Laravel, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap.
• Database expertise: SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL.
• Experience with DHIS2, ODK, KoboToolbox and other data collection tools.
• Web server management and optimization.
• Knowledge of health information exchange standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
• Experience with free and open‑source technology stacks.
