Individual Consultant for Systematization and Programme Guide Development for the “I Am Music” Initiative

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to lead the documentation, systematization, and institutionalization of the “I Am Music” initiative, a flagship program that uses artistic expression to promote behaviour change, social inclusion, gender transformation, protection and learning among children and adolescents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive review and documentation of the I Am Music initiative.
• Develop a systematic programme guide that aligns with UNICEF Cameroon Country Programme (2022‑2026) Education Output 4.
• Institutionalize best practices and tools for scaling the initiative across Cameroon and potentially other contexts.
• Coordinate with the Chief of Education, UNICEF country office, and local partners to ensure relevance and sustainability.
• Produce final deliverables, including a detailed guide, monitoring framework, and recommendations for future implementation.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Social Work, Anthropology, Psychology, Law, Sociology, Child Development, Gender, Cultural and Artistic Expression, Education or Development.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in program planning, management, monitoring and evaluation in developing countries.
• Fluency in French; English is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies on gender, adolescents, cultural initiatives, protective learning environments or life‑skills development.
• Field experience in Africa; experience in Cameroon is an advantage.
