Lead Pastor – New Church Plant in Douala

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Pastor to provide spiritual leadership for a new church plant in Douala. Working closely with the founder, the pastor will shape the vision, culture and ministries of a growing congregation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide biblically grounded spiritual and pastoral leadership.
• Preach and teach compelling, Scripture‑centered messages each week.
• Develop a strong culture of discipleship, prayer, evangelism and spiritual growth.
• Build and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers, establishing effective teams.
• Design and launch ministries and programmes appropriate for a growing congregation.
• Offer pastoral care, counselling and guidance to members.
• Create outreach and community‑engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with the founder and church leadership on governance and accountability.

Required profile

• Demonstrable Christian faith and genuine calling to pastoral ministry.
• Strong biblical knowledge and theological grounding.
• Proven preaching and teaching capability.
• Passion for caring for people and developing leaders.
• Experience in discipleship, evangelism, church development or church planting.
• Ability to build, develop and lead teams.
• High integrity, humility, maturity and emotional intelligence.
• Vision and initiative to operate in a new, evolving environment.
