Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

About the role

The Chief Marketing Officer will set the strategic direction for brand development, revenue growth and customer experience across Cameroon’s leading service organization. The role combines vision, market insight and operational leadership to drive sustainable business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and position commercial strategies and tactics to achieve revenue targets.
• Lead quantitative and qualitative market research campaigns to inform product and promotional decisions.
• Recommend and manage promotional budgets, ensuring cost‑effective execution.
• Provide governance and advisory support in strategic and operational meetings.
• Identify, mitigate and resolve key risks, issues and escalations affecting service delivery.
• Oversee performance against KPIs, SLAs and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgets and approve operational changes.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field; MBA or Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, including 5 years leading a marketing function in a large organization or FMCG.
• At least 3 years in the relevant sector and experience in a multinational environment.
• Proven track record of start‑up, turnaround or business‑improvement projects.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in the local language is preferred.
