Maître·sse de Conférence – Apprentissage et Sciences des Données

About the role

The university is seeking a Maître·sse de Conférence to teach computer‑science courses within the Bachelor of Technology (BUT) program at the IUT of Sorbonne Paris Nord. The position combines classroom teaching for both initial and apprenticeship tracks with active participation in research at the Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris Nord (LIPN), focusing on data‑science and machine‑learning topics.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and practical sessions in computer‑science subjects, especially data processing, database design and AI.
• Supervise student internships and apprentices, and contribute to the organization of learning‑evaluation situations (SAE).
• Assume course‑responsibility and take part in departmental committees and collective life.
• Develop and strengthen the data‑science axis of LIPN, collaborating on fundamental and applied research projects.
• Publish research results in machine learning, knowledge representation, natural language processing or graph learning.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated research contributions in machine learning or related areas.
• Experience in higher‑education teaching and willingness to engage in departmental activities.
