Expert, Fundraising and Proposal Development, Congo Basin

About the role

WWF International is seeking an experienced professional to lead fundraising and proposal development for its Congo Basin programmes. The role will support the organisation's mission to protect biodiversity and improve livelihoods across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement fundraising strategies to secure resources for high‑impact conservation projects.
• Write, edit and submit grant proposals to institutional donors, foundations and corporate partners.
• Manage donor relationships, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with funding agreements.
• Collaborate with programme teams to align funding opportunities with conservation priorities.
• Monitor funding pipelines, track performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing or proposal development within the environmental or development sector.
• Strong understanding of conservation challenges in the Congo Basin or similar ecosystems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
