Finance & Accounts Manager

About the role

We are seeking a resilient, hands‑on Finance & Accounts Manager to own the financial operations of our Cameroon business. Reporting to the Board of Directors and the General Manager, you will safeguard margins, manage cash flow, and ensure compliance across distribution, import, and commercial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily cash flow, balance vendor payables, operational overhead, and receipts.
• Enforce credit control and collection mechanisms for distributors, wholesalers, and retail clients.
• Direct day‑to‑day accounting functions including general ledger entries, purchase‑to‑pay, invoicing, and bank reconciliations.
• Partner with the General Manager to track operating expenses, manage procurement costs, and prevent inventory or cash leakages.
• Oversee physical stock counts and warehouse audits, reconciling inventory with system ledgers.
• Prepare accurate monthly management reports, expense analyses, and trial balances for executive review.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements such as VAT, withholding taxes, corporate declarations, and social security contributions.
• Liaise with commercial banks, tax consultants, and external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
• Proven experience managing core finance and accounting operations, preferably in Africa.
• Experience in trading, wholesale distribution, or import/export environments is a strong advantage.
• High stress tolerance, strong ethics, and an assertive approach to enforcing financial controls.
• Hands‑on mentality with willingness to dive into reconciliations, collections, and audits.
• Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
