Junior Accountant – Store & General Accounting

About the role

The Junior Accountant – Store & General Accounting ensures accurate and timely recording of all inventory movements while supporting the finance team with routine general accounting tasks. The role works closely with store, warehouse, procurement and operations teams to reconcile physical stock with ERP records and to resolve any discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Record goods receipts, issues, transfers, returns and adjustments in the ERP system, ensuring proper documentation and correct GL posting.
• Perform regular inventory reconciliations between store/warehouse records, ERP sub‑ledger and general‑ledger accounts, investigating and reporting variances.
• Participate in physical stock counts, prepare variance reports and ensure adjustments are reflected in the accounting system.
• Assist with accounts payable verification, supplier statement reconciliation and preparation of payment documentation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses and schedule preparation.
• Maintain organized supporting documents and respond to internal and external audit requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably with inventory/store accounting and exposure to month‑end closing.
• Familiarity with warehouse, procurement and inventory management processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP system for inventory and financial transactions.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting principles and general‑ledger reconciliations.
