Monitoring & Impact Measurement Intern

About the role

Biig Labs is seeking a Monitoring & Impact Measurement Intern to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems for its entrepreneurship programmes in Cameroon. The role will focus on data collection, impact assessment, and reporting to ensure evidence‑based decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and applying MEL frameworks for entrepreneurship initiatives.
• Design, pilot, and refine data collection tools such as surveys, interview guides, and feedback forms.
• Collect, clean, and maintain quantitative and qualitative programme data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments and track outputs, outcomes, and impact indicators.
• Prepare periodic monitoring reports, dashboards, and donor impact reports.
• Document lessons learned, case studies, and success stories for knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Collaborate with programme teams to align MEL activities with implementation and contribute to programme improvement.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Business, Sociology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of Monitoring & Evaluation concepts and frameworks.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or SurveyCTO.
