Protection Assistant – Return & Reintegration (G4)

About the role

The Protection Assistant will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission, the National MHPSS Officer and the Protection Associate to implement return and reintegration components of the Protection Programme in Cameroon. The role focuses on protection‑centred case management for vulnerable migrants, including victims of trafficking and unaccompanied children.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Protection Programme in project management, activity monitoring and reporting.
• Assist the Protection Associate with return and reintegration activities, ensuring compliance with IOM technical and administrative guidance.
• Implement livelihoods activities as part of case management for persons at risk of trafficking, exploitation or abuse.
• Facilitate community‑based initiatives that promote social cohesion and income‑generating projects for IDPs and host communities.
• Organise pre‑departure logistical assistance and coordinate with IOM offices, authorities and external partners for assisted voluntary return.
• Contribute to safe, dignified return and sustainable reintegration for Cameroonian migrants with specific vulnerabilities.
• Undertake duty travel as required by programme needs.
