Social and Behavior Change Internship – UNICEF Cameroon

About the role

UNICEF Cameroon is seeking motivated interns to support the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) section across several regions. Interns will assist in implementing the national SBC strategy, contributing to programmes in child protection, health, education, WASH, and nutrition. The placement lasts six months, full‑time, and is based in Yaoundé with possible field exposure in other cities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and adaptation of communication materials for SBC interventions.
• Assist in data collection, entry and basic analysis to monitor programme impact.
• Contribute to community engagement activities and outreach events.
• Help prepare reports and presentations for partners and donors.
• Coordinate logistics for training sessions and field visits.
• Collaborate with frontline workers and local partners to ensure effective implementation.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., public health, communication, social sciences).
• Strong interest in child rights, development and behavior change.
• Good written and oral English (and French) communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and travel within Cameroon.
