Biomedical Engineer – Emergency Response Roster

About the role

The Biomedical Engineer will join International Medical Corps’ emergency response standby roster, providing critical outpatient clinical care and ensuring the functionality of medical equipment for disaster‑affected populations. Candidates indicate their interest to be considered for rapid deployment in humanitarian crises.

Key responsibilities

• Support emergency response teams by maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting biomedical equipment in field settings.
• Be on standby to deploy within 48 hours to new or existing operation sites.
• Complete pre‑deployment paperwork, orientation, and training required for roster members.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary health teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date professional profile within the International Medical Corps roster system.

Required profile

• Qualified Biomedical Engineer with experience in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Willingness to be on standby and travel on short notice.
• Ability to work in challenging, resource‑limited environments.
