Chief Social & Behavior Change (P-4)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior professional to lead the development and implementation of evidence‑based Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) strategies in Cameroon. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, the role integrates SBC into programme planning, emergency response and long‑term development to improve children’s rights, survival and well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and use research, data and evidence to design, measure and monitor SBC programmes in development and emergency contexts.
• Design, plan and implement SBC activities grounded in social and behavioural science and ensure strong stakeholder participation.
• Advocate for SBC, mobilise resources, coordinate across sectors and build partnerships with government, civil society and UNICEF teams.
• Promote continuous learning by providing capacity‑building and scaling up SBC knowledge for UNICEF staff and partners.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in a social or behavioural science such as sociology, anthropology, communication for development, psychology or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience at national and international levels in developing, implementing, evaluating and managing social and behavioural change strategies and content.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including communities, civil‑society partners and government counterparts.
