ICT Intern

About the role

The ICT Intern will support the technical needs of the UNDP Cameroon office and its partner entities, including project teams, the UN Clinic, UNDSS, and the Resident Coordinator’s Office. Working under the supervision of the ICT Support Associate, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in installing, maintaining and securing ICT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer ICT hardware and software following established standards.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of ICT equipment.
• Implement and monitor security measures such as antivirus protection and firewall configurations.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of ICT assets.
• Provide help‑desk support, including user training on Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Assist in setting up audio‑visual equipment for meetings, tele‑conferences and video‑conferences.
• Document activities and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science or a related field.
• Recent graduate (within the last year) is acceptable.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Dynamic, enthusiastic and able to work efficiently in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to write clear reports and document work.
• Commitment to the UN values of respect, professionalism and integrity.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows 10
• Microsoft Office 365 (including Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint)
• Zoom and Microsoft Teams video‑conferencing tools
• Basic knowledge of firewalls, antivirus software and backup/recovery procedures
