Interim Disrepair Surveyor – South London

About the role

A South London local authority is looking for an experienced Interim Disrepair Surveyor to join its high‑profile Disrepair Team. Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will own cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of remedial works.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections to diagnose disrepair and specify remedial works.
• Raise work orders and manage contractors through to completion.
• Perform pre‑inspections, work‑in‑progress checks and post‑completion inspections.
• Project‑manage disrepair works, meeting agreed timescales and budgets.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact for tenants, providing clear communication and support.
• Coordinate temporary decants where required.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Legal and Tenancy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property maintenance or building surveying.
• Strong technical knowledge of building defects and repairs.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation in property maintenance.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Strong organisational and project‑management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets.
• Full UK driving licence.
