Interim Disrepair Surveyor – South London

About the role

The South London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Disrepair Surveyor to join its busy Disrepair Team. Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will own cases from inspection through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections to diagnose disrepair issues and specify remedial works.
• Raise work orders and manage contractors through to completion.
• Perform pre‑inspections, work‑in‑progress checks and post‑completion inspections.
• Project‑manage disrepair works, meeting agreed timescales and budgets.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce quality and Health & Safety standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for tenants, providing clear communication throughout the works.
• Coordinate temporary decants when required and collaborate with Legal and Tenancy teams.

Required profile

• Proactive, technically strong surveyor with the ability to manage a varied caseload in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
