Market Analyst – Commodity Procurement (Cameroon)

About the role

Nascent Solutions Inc. is looking for an experienced consultant or consulting agency to conduct a market analysis of local food commodities needed for the McGovern‑Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Project in Cameroon. The analysis will support the design of a procurement plan that meets school feeding program needs while minimizing market disruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess local production capacity, seasonality and supply chains for bio‑fortified maize, beans, palm oil and chicken eggs in the North, Northwest, Adamawa and East regions.
• Analyse price trends, demand‑supply gaps and potential impacts of large‑scale procurement on local markets.
• Identify key market actors, distribution channels and any constraints affecting reliable supply.
• Provide recommendations to procure required quantities without harming food security of local communities.
• Prepare a final report confirming that Cameroon’s domestic production can meet demand and that regional imports are unnecessary.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural market research or commodity supply chain analysis, preferably in West Africa.
• Strong understanding of food security implications of large‑scale procurement.
• Ability to work independently and deliver a comprehensive report within the July 1 – August 21, 2026 timeframe.
