Mechanical Estimator

About the role

You will join a professional engineering and installation contractor, gaining hands‑on experience in mechanical estimating and pricing for HVAC, piping and plumbing projects. The role is ideal for a motivated engineer eager to develop technical and project‑management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate the scope of work for each tender.
• Analyse technical drawings, specifications and Bill of Quantities to ensure completeness.
• Prepare Requests for Information when clarification is needed.
• Develop cost estimates for labour, materials, tools, equipment and mobilisation.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor documentation for HVAC, piping and plumbing works.
• Propose value‑engineering solutions to optimise project costs.
• Coordinate with schedulers to support construction schedule creation.
• Assist procurement through purchase‑order issuance and material verification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of field experience with MEP systems, preferably in data‑centre or industrial projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Detail‑oriented, accurate and able to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
• Experience with AutoCAD (advantageous).
• Knowledge of HVAC, piping and plumbing systems.
• Understanding of MEP materials and construction methods.
• Cost estimating and quantity take‑off skills.
