Operations Administrator – Underground Transmission Engineer

About the role

XYZER is seeking a motivated Operations Administrator with deep expertise in underground power transmission engineering. The role combines team leadership, technical design, and client interaction to deliver reliable subsea and underground transmission solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers and designers to execute underground transmission projects.
• Develop specifications, technical documents, and design packages for manholes, conduit, duct banks, and cable replacement.
• Conduct routing, conflict analysis, and construction cost estimation to support feasibility studies.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for underground electric facilities.
• Prepare cable pulling, ampacity, cable selection, grounding and bonding calculations.
• Generate proposals, cost estimates, and execution schedules for client projects.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Define scopes of work for topographic mapping, surveying, and subsurface utility locating, and integrate survey data into designs.
• Apply various cable installation methods, including direct burial, concrete duct banks, bridge attachment, and trenchless techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum 5 years of underground distribution or transmission civil engineering/design experience.
• Strong knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods and electrical system equipment.
• Experience conducting underground field inspections and working with easements, right‑of‑way, and permitting processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and communicate effectively.

Required skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).
• Cable pulling and ampacity calculations.
• Cable selection and grounding/bonding design.
• Routing analysis, conflict analysis, and construction cost estimation.
• Topographic mapping, surveying, and subsurface utility locating.
• Knowledge of XLPE and HPFF cable systems.
