Specialist Occupational Therapist

About the role

The Specialist Occupational Therapist will join the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at The West Road Centre in Irvine. You will deliver high‑quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 5‑18 across Ayrshire and Arran, supporting their emotional wellbeing, participation and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and adolescents.
• Design and implement evidence‑based, person‑centred interventions in clinical and community settings.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary CAMHS team and external agencies.
• Contribute to risk assessment, safeguarding processes and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Engage with families and partners to support therapeutic goals.
• Participate in clinical supervision, service development and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Completion of the Flying Start NHS programme.
• Essential UK driving licence.
