Area Operations Manager – Kousseri, Cameroon

About the role

The Area Operations Manager will oversee day‑to‑day operational oversight of the Kousseri Area Office, coordinating programme implementation and ensuring high‑quality, compliant support services for a team of around 25 staff. The role supports NRC’s humanitarian response in Cameroon’s Far North, working closely with local partners, authorities and other humanitarian actors.

Key responsibilities

• Organise grant opening and closure meetings in coordination with the country office.
• Represent NRC externally at the local level and build professional networks.
• Contribute to assessments for new areas of operation and develop programme strategies.
• Adapt and implement SOPs and procedures to ensure effective assistance delivery.
• Coordinate periodic reporting to the Country Management Group and analyse high‑risk areas.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in office or operations management, preferably in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Experience supporting cash‑based interventions and market‑based programming.
• Strong knowledge of the humanitarian and socio‑political context in Far North Cameroon.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities and work with local authorities and partners.
