Area Sales Manager - Heavy Equipment & Construction Machinery

About the role

A bilingual (French/English) Area Manager is sought to drive growth in Cameroon for a supplier of heavy-duty equipment, construction machinery and industrial capital goods. The role covers Douala or Yaoundé, with frequent domestic travel, and focuses on expanding market share, building local networks and delivering commercial and financial targets set by headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Own annual and quarterly sales volume, revenue and payment collection targets across all product lines in Cameroon
• Identify and secure high-value deals with private enterprises, mining operators and public sector tenders, and lead negotiations for key corporate accounts and large equipment contracts
• Run ATL and BTL campaigns, including field demonstrations at construction or quarry sites and participation in local trade fairs
• Track competitor pricing, product innovations and market trends and report them to HQ
• Work with the credit department on financing, leasing or rent-to-own options, and with technical and service teams on a smooth sale-to-service handover
• Produce sales forecasts, pipeline updates and market analysis reports in English and French

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Sales, Marketing or Mechanical Engineering
• 5 to 8 years of B2B business development experience in heavy-duty equipment, construction machinery, commercial automotive or industrial capital goods in Cameroon
• Professional written and spoken English and French
• Deep knowledge of local buyer networks and project sites such as construction sites, quarries, mining operations and port logistics
