Associate Lawyer – Hybrid (Yaoundé)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Associate Lawyer to join our Yaoundé office on a hybrid basis. You will work closely with senior lawyers on cross‑border and domestic matters, providing high‑quality legal advice and support.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review contracts, legal opinions, pleadings and other client documents.
• Conduct legal research, analyse statutes, regulations and case law.
• Prepare clear, reasoned advice for clients.
• Support senior lawyers in hearings, negotiations and transactions.
• Manage case files and coordinate with colleagues across jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings and opinions.
• Excellent written and spoken English and French; additional languages a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Comfort working in multicultural, cross‑border teams.
• Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality and client service.
• Law degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for bar admission.
• Prior experience as a trainee or associate in a law firm or in‑house department is preferred.
• Strong digital literacy with legal research databases and standard office software.
