Commercial Director

About the role

The Commercial Director will translate the company’s overall strategy into concrete sales actions on the ground in Douala, Cameroon. This senior role drives revenue growth, oversees the sales team, and ensures the operational implementation of commercial strategies within the fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research, monitor competitor activity, and analyse price trends to support pricing decisions.
• Develop and execute marketing and sales action plans to achieve revenue targets.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales performance, stock levels, and distribution.
• Maintain strong relationships with downstream clients, addressing issues promptly to boost customer satisfaction.
• Identify new market opportunities, visit assigned regions, and acquire new clients.
• Lead and train the sales team, set commercial objectives, and foster a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of the Cameroonian FMCG market and product distribution channels.
• Proven negotiation and persuasion abilities.
• Experience in developing sales initiatives and managing commercial projects.
• Strong analytical mindset for market and competitor analysis.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Experience using sales management software.
