Construction Officer – Temporary Assignment

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Construction Officer to provide technical support for its construction programme in Cameroon. The role involves planning, procurement assistance, and on‑site monitoring to ensure resilient and sustainable school infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual construction workplan.
• Collaborate with UNICEF programme teams and government counterparts to define construction interventions.
• Develop design and technical documentation for projects.
• Support the procurement process for construction services and materials.
• Monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with quality, schedule, and safety standards.
• Track environmental and social impact indicators for each project.

Required profile

• University degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience at national or international level in project monitoring, site supervision, quality assurance or related technical areas.
• Experience with public building construction processes, supervision, management, programming and planning.
• Knowledge of disaster risk reduction construction practices.
