Construction Specialist (P-3) – Education Infrastructure

About the role

UNICEF Cameroon is seeking a Construction Specialist (P-3) to lead the planning, procurement support, and on‑site monitoring of education infrastructure projects. The role ensures that safe, inclusive and resilient learning environments are delivered in underserved and crisis‑affected communities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual construction work plan in coordination with programme and government partners.
• Develop design and technical documents for school building projects.
• Support procurement processes, including tender preparation and evaluation.
• Monitor construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with standards, timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical advice to UNICEF Operations, government authorities and implementing partners.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in civil engineering, construction engineering, architecture or environmental engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in UN/NGO construction management, education infrastructure, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, procurement, contract management and site supervision.
