Education Specialist (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Specialist on a six‑month temporary appointment to support the design, implementation and monitoring of education programmes in Cameroon. Working under the guidance of the Chief, Education or the Education Manager, you will help improve learning outcomes for marginalized children.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning, including the preparation of education sector strategies.
• Manage, monitor and report on the delivery of education projects, ensuring results‑based management.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to field teams during implementation.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in education, economics, psychology, sociology or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in programme planning, management or research in education.
• Fluency in French and intermediate proficiency in English.
• Knowledge of an additional UN language (e.g., Arabic) is desirable.
