Field Service Technician – Construction Equipment

About the role

The Technician will perform on‑site technical interventions on construction and mining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction in line with BIA’s maintenance contracts and SLA agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Erect, configure, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair field equipment according to shop manuals and BIA DOST procedures.
• Carry out preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and lubrication, and conduct scheduled inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults, repair or replace defective components and perform functional testing.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify root causes, prepare intervention reports and update the planning board.
• Identify required spare parts, coordinate with the warehouse and contribute to spare‑parts inventory management.
• Follow HSE policies, report safety issues and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Technical Certificate, Vocational Diploma or HND/BTS in Construction Equipment Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, Diesel Mechanics or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience maintaining construction equipment or industrial machinery.
• Valid driving licence B (C preferred) and ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

Required skills

• Equipment erection, configuration and repair.
• Preventive maintenance procedures (oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication).
• Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic fault diagnosis.
• Use of diagnostic equipment and software.
• Welding and basic metal fabrication.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
