Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a global leader in aviation services, is looking for a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for maintaining robust financial systems, ensuring GAAP compliance, and guiding an eight‑person accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities, delivering accurate and timely financial information.
• Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets.
• Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate tax filings with a third‑party CPA firm and ensure compliance with new accounting standards.
• Lead external audit processes and prepare required documentation.
• Manage fixed‑asset records, depreciation schedules, and payroll processing through a third‑party provider.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff, reviewing general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain relationships with banks, external accountants, and insurance agents.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and the CEO.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economics (required).
• Master’s degree or professional designation such as CPA or CMA (preferred).
• Minimum ten years of accounting, audit and financial experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate taxation.
• Significant experience in a commercial environment; exposure to the aviation industry is a plus.
• Demonstrated management and supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation, problem‑solving and conceptual thinking abilities.
