Head of Energy – Solar & Telecom Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Energy Head to lead our renewable energy and telecom power business across East and West Africa, with a focus on Cameroon. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of solar, hybrid and battery storage projects, ensuring successful delivery and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the energy business and project execution across Cameroon, planning and managing solar farms and related EPC activities.
• Drive deployment of solar, hybrid, battery storage and energy solutions for telecom infrastructure.
• Oversee end‑to‑end project lifecycle: planning, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and O&M.
• Manage EPC contractors, vendors, consultants and local project teams to meet scope, schedule, quality and budget.
• Develop project plans, CAPEX budgets, resource plans and execution strategies while monitoring performance and mitigating risks.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, technical, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Build and lead a high‑performing local energy/project execution team and identify expansion opportunities.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, solar power, telecom infrastructure or related sectors.
• Hands‑on experience delivering utility‑scale or commercial/industrial solar projects.
• Strong background in telecom power systems (BTS/site, tower power).
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale projects, EPC contractors and multi‑location teams.
• Fluency in French (mandatory) and English (advantage).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Renewable Energy or related field; PMP or MBA is a plus.
