HSE Specialist Intern

About the role

The HSE Specialist Intern will support local management in building and continuously improving the Health, Safety and Environment culture at the Douala worksite. This role offers a hands‑on learning experience in implementing HSE policies, monitoring compliance, and contributing to a safe operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop awareness and embed HSE policies and standards into daily work.
• Assist in implementing the HSE Management System, monitoring objectives, assessing local risks, and drafting local HSE procedures.
• Monitor HSE plans and ensure compliance with policies, standards, and procedures.
• Coordinate HSE training sessions and review training materials.
• Review HSE documentation and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Track and follow up on HSE reports and audit findings.
• Recommend improvements to the HSE program based on observations.
• Analyze HSE trends for the location and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in a Health, Safety and Environment related field.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Quick learner who can translate knowledge into practical solutions.
• Problem‑solving ability and initiative.
• Willingness to adhere to company QHSE policies and procedures.
