Junior Logistics Officer

About the role

The Junior Logistics Officer will support daily logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations in Douala. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the role ensures timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and safety compliance. This position is ideal for a motivated individual seeking long‑term growth in logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt of raw materials, verify delivery documents, and inspect shipments for quantity and quality.
• Maintain accurate stock records, conduct cycle counts, and assist in full stocktakes.
• Prepare shipping documentation and ensure timely dispatch to customers and distributors.
• Manage carrier relationships and track shipments to delivery.
• Participate in warehouse layout planning, enforce housekeeping, safety, and security standards.
• Prepare and manage import/export documentation under supervision.
• Produce logistics reports and monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery and inventory accuracy.
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Quality, Sales, and Finance to align logistics activities with business needs.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• 2–3 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain.
• Rigor, attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Team spirit, good communication, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent French; intermediate English is a plus.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of logistics processes, inventory management and transportation systems.
• Basic knowledge of Cameroonian customs procedures and import/export documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with logistics software such as SAP, Oracle ERP or a Transport Management System (TMS).
