Market Development Specialist – Agrochemicals (Cameroon)

About the role

Our client is expanding its agrochemical business in Cameroon and seeks a Market Development Specialist to drive sustainable growth. The role combines market insight, commercial activation, and frontline enablement to increase penetration, market share, and revenue for the crop protection portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze market size, growth, and white‑space opportunities at country and micro‑market levels.
• Translate category strategy into actionable channel plans, including pricing, pack architecture, and assortment optimization.
• Lead new product launches and renovations in collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
• Assess and optimise route‑to‑market models, distributor structures, and coverage plans.
• Drive numeric and weighted distribution growth across priority channels and geographies.
• Design and execute channel activation plans aligned with commercial and brand priorities.
• Monitor sell‑in and sell‑out performance using dashboards and KPIs, providing actionable insights.
• Train distributor sales teams on execution standards and conduct joint field visits.

Required profile

• Degree in Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the agrochemical/crop protection industry in technical, sales, or marketing roles.
• Solid knowledge of the crop protection sector and farmer needs; crop nutrition knowledge is a plus.
• Experience developing and delivering training programmes for commercial audiences.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to turn insights into clear actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to travel within the region for field visits and occasional office collaboration.
