About the role
The Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of brand and product strategies for a leading FMCG/Tobacco company in Cameroon. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role focuses on building brand equity, launching new products, and driving market‑share growth.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement brand strategies to strengthen the portfolio in Cameroon.
- Lead end‑to‑end product launches, from concept through market introduction.
- Define brand positioning, identity, and messaging for all products.
- Monitor brand health and take corrective actions as needed.
- Plan and execute annual marketing plans aligned with commercial objectives.
- Manage marketing budgets and ensure optimal ROI.
- Design media and non‑media communication plans for each brand.
- Coordinate with sales and distribution teams to execute trade‑marketing activities.
- Conduct market research on consumer behavior, preferences, and trends.
- Track competitor activity and provide competitive intelligence.
- Identify market opportunities and recommend actions to increase share.
- Work with distribution partners to ensure product availability and visibility.
- Develop trade‑marketing programs for distributors and retailers.
- Track and report on KPIs such as market share, brand awareness, sales volume, and ROI.
- Prepare regular marketing reports and post‑launch evaluations.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and coaching of the marketing team.
Required profile
- MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of marketing management experience, preferably in FMCG or Tobacco.
- Proven track record of building brands and leading successful product launches.
- Deep knowledge of FMCG distribution channels and the Cameroonian market.
- Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English.
