Marketing Manager – FMCG/Tobacco (Douala)

About the role

The Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of brand and product strategies for a leading FMCG/Tobacco company in Cameroon. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role focuses on building brand equity, launching new products, and driving market‑share growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement brand strategies to strengthen the portfolio in Cameroon.
• Lead end‑to‑end product launches, from concept through market introduction.
• Define brand positioning, identity, and messaging for all products.
• Monitor brand health and take corrective actions as needed.
• Plan and execute annual marketing plans aligned with commercial objectives.
• Manage marketing budgets and ensure optimal ROI.
• Design media and non‑media communication plans for each brand.
• Coordinate with sales and distribution teams to execute trade‑marketing activities.
• Conduct market research on consumer behavior, preferences, and trends.
• Track competitor activity and provide competitive intelligence.
• Identify market opportunities and recommend actions to increase share.
• Work with distribution partners to ensure product availability and visibility.
• Develop trade‑marketing programs for distributors and retailers.
• Track and report on KPIs such as market share, brand awareness, sales volume, and ROI.
• Prepare regular marketing reports and post‑launch evaluations.
• Participate in recruitment, training, and coaching of the marketing team.

Required profile

• MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of marketing management experience, preferably in FMCG or Tobacco.
• Proven track record of building brands and leading successful product launches.
• Deep knowledge of FMCG distribution channels and the Cameroonian market.
• Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English.
