Mining Manager

About the role

The Quarry Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all quarry operations to meet production targets, quality standards, safety, and environmental requirements in Cameroon. Reporting to the Quarry Head, the role focuses on efficient aggregate production while ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily quarry activities including drilling, blasting, extraction, crushing and screening.
• Set and monitor production targets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Optimize equipment performance and ensure raw material availability.
• Manage machinery usage and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Supervise production teams, organize work schedules and enforce discipline.
• Implement health, safety and environmental procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Control product quality to meet grading and specification standards.
• Prepare daily and monthly production reports and track operating costs.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Public Works, or related field (Bac+3/Bac+5).
• 5‑10 years of experience in quarry or mining operations, preferably in aggregates or construction materials.
• Industrial Risk Management training and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 certifications.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of quarry operations techniques.
• Familiarity with crushing and screening equipment.
• Good understanding of mining and environmental regulations in Cameroon.
• Proficiency with IT reporting tools and production monitoring systems.
