North Cameroon/Chad Binational Complex Landscape Director

About the role

WCS is looking for a Landscape Director to lead the North Cameroon/Chad Binational Complex. The role oversees a multidisciplinary team of about 200 staff across Cameroon and Chad, driving conservation outcomes and community benefits in a trans‑boundary landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage roughly 200 personnel, fostering a cohesive, gender‑balanced and inclusive work environment.
• Represent WCS with government agencies, traditional authorities and local partners to promote wildlife protection, sustainable resource use and conflict resolution.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, prepare proposals and secure funding for future landscape initiatives.
• Oversee project coordination, budgeting, procurement and reporting to ensure compliance with donor and internal requirements.
• Ensure safety, security and human‑rights standards for all staff, partners and field operations.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of programme and project management experience in a relevant conservation role.
• Strong understanding of conservation challenges in the Sudano‑Sahel region.
• Master’s degree or higher in conservation, natural‑resource management or a related field.
