Part‑time Driver – Bamenda, Mamfe or Kumba

About the role

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking part‑time drivers to support its emergency programmes in the Far North, Southwest and Northwest regions of Cameroon. Drivers will be based in Bamenda, Mamfe or Kumba and will transport IRC staff and passengers safely to approved destinations, including airport pick‑ups and drop‑offs.

Key responsibilities

• Courteously transport IRC employees to destinations approved by supervisors.
• Maintain constant communication during working hours and keep a charged mobile phone for reachability.
• Follow approved trip schedules, inform supervisors of any delays, and manage airport arrivals and departures.
• Check and update the trip log to ensure no passenger is missed.
• Comply with IRC vehicle usage rules: complete logbooks, wear seatbelts, prohibit alcohol, drugs, unauthorized persons or materials.
• Perform regular vehicle checks, report breakdowns, monitor fuel and lubricant levels, and sign fuel logs at each refuel.
• Ensure all required equipment and tools are on board the vehicle.

Required profile

• Part‑time availability with a base in Bamenda, Mamfe or Kumba.
• Report directly to the Admin and Logistics Officer.
• Reliability, courteous attitude, and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to keep a mobile phone charged and respond promptly during work hours.
