Policy Intern – ICT Unit (Yaounde)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated Policy Intern to join its Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Unit in Yaounde, Cameroon. This on‑site internship offers a hands‑on learning environment where you will support policy‑related activities and gain exposure to UN‑level institutional relations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and administrative support to programme activities, including document streamlining and coordination.
• Assist in the preparation, note‑taking, and filing of internal and external meetings with government authorities and other stakeholders.
• Report on programmatic and political engagement, manage stakeholder mapping, and maintain contact databases.
• Collect feedback from stakeholders and support training sessions on IOM activities.
• Help manage consultancies and IP partners, including product evaluation and financial follow‑up.
• Offer general clerical assistance to the Policy Team and perform any other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or recent graduate within the last 12 months) in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Sociology or related fields.
• Experience working in an international, multicultural environment, preferably within the UN system.
• Demonstrated experience in institutional relations and interaction with government authorities.
• Exposure to drafting documents and public‑facing writing.
• Understanding of the Cameroonian political landscape and policy development processes.
